Our Vision and Values

Jesus says, “All things are possible if you believe.”

                                                                                                                    Mark 9:23

At All Saints Church School, our goal is to love and follow Jesus as our “Good Shepherd” (John 10: 14-16). We are guided by his teaching to “Love God and love others” (Mark 12: 30-31) and the Bible tells us that Jesus said, “All things are possible if you believe.” (Mark 9:23) This is the foundation of our ethos and values we live by as a school community.

Through lived experiences, we challenged the chosen theology, with a particular focus on the word “possible.” Together, we now understand that each person’s unique God given gifts, enable each individual and our community to flourish in accordance with God’s will, in keeping with the Trust vision “That they may have life, life in all its fullness.” John 10:10.

We aim to be the best version of ourselves in our daily lives through: worship, prayer, spirituality, work and play, following the teaching of the Good Shepherd, embodying his values.

The philosophy for learning at our school is summarised in our school vision statement and links to the Church of England's vision for education; educating for hope, community, wisdom and dignity.

All Saints Church School Vision

Jesus says, “All things are possible if you believe.”

And we believe that by working together, we can grow the very best, bespoke version of All Saints Church School.

If we can ignite, inspire and nurture curiosity and creativity, self-motivation and self-confidence, then

All things will be possible if we believe…

If we value and nurture the sparkle of all individuals, in a safe learning environment, with equality underpinning all efforts, children will be able to be the best version of themselves, valuing their own self-worth, knowing that

All things will be possible if we believe…

If we create a culture of compassion, trust and shared values, ensuring we all work together – both within the school and as part of the wider community - then

All things will be possible if we believe…

If, by utilising an extraordinarily talented team of adults, we can encourage trial and error to help develop resilience and perseverance, our children will become lifelong learners and

All things will be possible if we believe…

If by peeling back the layers of understanding we have a greater wisdom of life; little by little, deeper and deeper and day by day,

As Jesus says,

“All things will be possible if we believe,”

And we believe it is!

On a recent Vision and Values day, our children created a 100 word vision

  • We believe by helping each other, we can grow to be the very best. Our community cares and nurtures all children in a safe learning environment by being open-minded to curiosity and creativity. We always show respect, love and perseverance to everyone within our school.

  • LIKE THE GOOD SHEPHERD, if we remember all our school values and our individual gifts from God, we can build upon our wisdom for the greater community. Within a culture of compassion and friendship, we can become the best versions of ourselves! When we work together, we can make everything possible. All things will be possible if we believe.

We are part of the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust.

The Trust has the vision  of providing an excellent education for every child, enhanced by a distinctive Christian ethos within the Trust family.

It holds values which we also believe to be fundamental to the growth of our children:

Educational and Aspirational Values

Moral and Christian Values

Collaborative Values.

Our Christian Values

During the year 2022 All Saints Church School reviewed their Christian vision and values. This was an in-depth process that unified the opinions and thoughts from all members of the school community.

An Ethos committee, led by school leaders, helps to focus and embed our core values.

In June 2022, governors were invited to join classes across the school, gaining a deeper understanding of how the provision for children supported the understanding and embedding of each of our six Christian values;

Friendship, Love, Respect, Community, Perseverance and Wisdom.

Classes were each given a value to explore, and each class created an artistic representation in poster form.

Each governor now has a value assigned to them and they advocate for their value to ensure it is well embedded in school practice.

Our values form a focus during collective worship, in personal and social education, our wider curriculum, within our school rules and in the way we treat each other. Each half-term we focus on one of our values, reflecting on how we can improve life for all and how the Bible is a resource when learning about these values.
